Yogacampus is one of the UKs leading yoga educators. We are a not for profit body, established in 2003 with the specific aim of providing high quality yoga training and education. We are an independent organisation, but closely connected to The Life Centre, one of the UKs top yoga centres, and have trained over 400 yoga teachers.
We offer an 18 month, approximately 360 contact hour, yoga teacher training diploma course, taught by a range of leading UK based teachers, but overseen by an experienced board of trainers. The main course tuition takes place over 13 weekends of modules. In addition, as part of the course, all students have the opportunity to take a 30 hour intensive with a member of our visiting teacher faculty, which includes such top international teachers as Shiva Rea, Judith Lasater, Richard Freeman and Rod Stryker. Our diploma course is offered both in London and in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
As well as yoga teacher training, we also offer a diploma course in yoga therapy, specialist training in yoga for pregnancy, children and families, yoga nidra, and a range of workshops and other events for yoga teachers, trainee teachers and other dedicated students. Many of these are also taught by some of the very top yoga teachers in the world.
We have our own dedicated Training Centre in Islington, London N1, which we share with The Life Centre, and where the majority of our London trainings and events take place. Our Yorkshire training takes place at the Calderdale Yoga Centre in Hebden Bridge.
We welcome students from all backgrounds and all styles of yoga. Our trainings are non-dogmatic: we prefer to offer students a rounded training which gives them the tools to teach in their own individual way, enjoying their own unique style, approach and creativity. Our core principles are:
• that yoga, while undoubtedly producing physical benefits, is way more than just
an exercise system
• that yoga can change your life and transform your outlook we know, weve been there
• that there are many authentic paths of yoga, all of which deserve respect
• that there is a yoga path for everyone: female or male, young or old, stiff or bendy.
Perhaps our best testimonial is that many of our graduates over the years have forged very successful teaching careers, including, in some cases, establishing their own yoga centres.
Our teachers and teacher training boards
A key feature of our training courses is that we draw on a range of expert teachers, from a variety of backgrounds, rather than relying heavily on one or two individuals to cover the whole range of the course content. We believe that there is great advantage in giving students a variety of perspectives - and encouraging you to think for yourself!
We have separate teacher training boards for the London diploma course, Hebden Bridge diploma course and therapy diploma course, each of which meets regularly and has the primary responsibility for assessing students progress. All board members have been teaching yoga for over 10 years.
